Family Owned Garage Opener Repair Chicagoland
After years of receiving countless calls for garage door repairs, it’s safe to say that most repairs end up being fixed by realigning the photo eyes or replacing worn gears found within the garage door opener itself. In other instances there may be no other choice but to replace the garage door opener motor, circuit board, limit switches, trolleys, drive trains, belts and any number of other moving parts located inside the garage door opener. If you’re lucky, all your garage door opener will need is a simple adjustment without the need to replace any parts at all.
Our team of skilled technicians have experience repairing garage door openers or both residential and commercial uses. We provide service for all garage door opener brands models including but not limited to Genie, Lift Master, Chamberlain, Wayne Dalton and much more.
One of the major concerns regarding garage door openers and garage doors in general is the importance of being safety compliant. We make sure that there is no danger to anyone by running tests on all mechanisms to ensure everything is working as expected. There are a number of key elements that need to be tested in order to ensure you meet safety requirements:
Make sure you have photo eyes installed properly near the bottom of each side of your garage door. These are sensors made to stop the garage door in case an object or person is detected. These sensors need to be mounted no higher than 6 inches above the ground. If you do not have photo eyes installed, it is strongly recommended you get these installed right away. Nowadays these come standard with any garage door opener.
Once you have located your photo eyes, test that they work by closing the garage door while blocking the sensors. If the photo eyes are working properly the door will come to a halt.
Last but not least, place anything on the floor where the garage door closes that is no more than an inch and a half and press the close button. Once the door reaches this object it should automatically reverse back.
